Greg Etter
Greg Etter enters his third season as head football coach of the Falcons.  Under his leadership the football team   has earned two second place finishes in the Northern Athletics Conference with a record of 10 – 4.  Etter’s    

overall record is 10 – 10.  His Concordia teams have produced  25 All Conference selections,  1 All Region  

selection,  and  1 All American selection.

Since his arrival the Concordia football program has grown to over 120 participants.  Etter places a strong         emphasis on academics, which has produced a team GPA of 2.9.  The Falcon Football team has also been involved with various community service projects.  Some of these include:  Longario Family Housing Project, Canned Food Drive, Dance for Diabetes, Read Across America, donating time for the Cedarburg Education Association, and working with local Youth Football Organizations.

Coach Etter has coached at the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels of competition during his nineteen years as an assistant coach.  During that time he has worked for 4 separate Coach Of the Year Award Winners.  Prior to his arrival at Concordia he was the Defensive Coordinator at Carthage College.  While at Carthage his Defenses were Nationally ranked in turnovers, scoring defense, total defense, rushing defense, and pass efficiency defense.  In 2004 his defense led the nation in interceptions.  This success led to Etter being selected to the American Football Monthly “Hot Coaches List” which recognizes the top 80 coaches in the country.  The 2004 Carthage team ended the season as the #5 ranked team in the country. 

Prior to Carthage, Etter spent 12 seasons at South Dakota State University.  While at SDSU he held the titles of Defensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, and Defensive Backfield Coach.  During his tenure he coached the # 1 punter in NCAA Division II in 1996 and produced the #3 Kick Off Return unit in NCAA Division II in 1994.  His secondary set a school record for interceptions while the defense was a conference leader in turnover margin and pass defense.   Two of Etter’s former players went on to play in the NFL.  Adam Vinatieri  K for The Indianapolis Colts, and Scott Connot  former DB for the Kansas City Chiefs.

His college coaching career began at the University of Wisconsin where he assisted with the Defensive Backs.   While at UW, Etter had the opportunity to coach Troy Vincent.  Troy was the seventh pick in the first round of the 1992 NFL Draft and went on to a long and successful NFL career.  As a young member of Barry Alvarez’s staff, Coach Etter developed his coaching philosophy and approach to the day to day operations of running a successful college football program.

Etter’s wife (Kerry) is an elementary school teacher and they have two sons; Mason (13) and Blake (10).

Jeff Walker

Jeff WalkerAssociate head coach, recruiting coordinator, and offensive coordinator Jeff Walker returns for his sixth season in 2009. After graduating from Madison Memorial High School, Jeff's coaching career began as a student assistant at UW-Whitewater from '87-90.

He was the first-ever Concordia graduate assistant during the '92 and '93 seasons before taking his coaching skills to Kansas Wesleyan for two falls.

KW was nationally ranked defensively both of those seasons. Walker then returned to Wisconsin to "get married and begin a second coaching stint" with CUW. He had been at Fort Hays State (KS) for the previous six campaigns.

Jeff and his wife Dawn (Concordia WI '90) have two children; TD and Keri. "With fifteen years of experience preparing for various offenses, I am excited to work with the other side of the football and build the schemes to attack other teams' defenses."

As a defensive mentor, his Fort Hays teams led the conference in all major defensive stats for 4 of 6 seasons. The Falcons have dominated the IBFC defensively against the pass, with Walker's athletes earning DB of the Year all four seasons.

 

Adam Walker

Coach Walker has been a part of the Concordia University Wisconsin football staff since 2006.  He started as the running backs coach for the 2006 and 2007 seasons before moving to Defensive Coordinator position from 2008 to present date.   The CUW defense has been one of the top defenses in the NAC conference in each of his two years as coordinator.

Prior to coming to CUW, Coach Walker worked at Carthage College for 3 seasons, where he coached the secondary.   Under the tutelage of then Defensive Coordinator (Greg Etter),  the  2004 secondary finished first nationally with 31 interceptions and 10 defensive touchdowns.   Coach Walker also served as a Head Coach at the high school level for 8 years and as an assistant coach for 5 years.   Walker has been a part of three NCAA playoff staffs in his 7 years of collegiate football.   Coach Walker’s playing career consist of his playing quarterback at Carthage College (1981 – 85) and a short stint with the Minnesota Vikings (running back) in 1987.

Walker also served as the Concordia University Wisconsin Head Track & Field Coach (men & women) for 5 seasons (2006 – 10), before stepping down this upcoming  Fall.   In his short term as track & field coach, he has won 9 NAC conference championships (indoor & outdoor) and 9 Coach of the Year honors.  Walker also has the distinction of coaching three National Champions and several All Americans in his days as T&F coach.  Amanda Kuca was the 2006 National DIII Track Athlete of the Year and a National Champion.  Brock Solveson was the DIII National Scholar Athlete of the Year in both 2009 and 2010.  Solveson also won 2  National Championships.   Upon leaving the CUW track and field program, his new departmental duty will be to serve as the Minority  Student  Athlete  Recruiting  Liaison.

 

Rob Jacobi

In his 6th year at CUW Coach Jacobi has made the move to Offensive Line Coach  having previously served as Special Teams Coordinator, Inside Linebackers coach, and  cornerbacks' coach. In each of his 3 seasons he has coached a 1st Team All-Conference selection including a Conference Defensive Back of the Year representative in 2006 (Rick Hutchins).

In 2006 Jacobi helped guide the Falcons to their first undefeated regular season in Concordia history going 10-0 in the regular season. The 2006 and 2007 teams were also the first in school history to achieve two consecutive playoff appearances while winning back to back conference championships. In 2007 the Falcon defense finished ranked #4 in the Nation overall, surrendering 223.2ypg and #3 in pass efficiency holding opponents to a mere 43% completion rate.

A graduate from Cedarburg high school Jacobi began his collegiate career at Northern Michigan University before transferring to Concordia to finish out his eligibility. After a long 9 year absence he returned to Concordia to complete his degree earning a B.A in psychology in May 2007. Prior to coming back to Concordia Jacobi served as an assistant coach at Milwaukee Bay View high school in 2004 as the secondary coach. He also served 4 years as the Linebackers coach and special teams coordinator for the Milwaukee Marauders a minor league team that his twin brother started.

 

Keith Collins

Coach Keith Collins returned to CUW several years ago for a second coaching stint after a two year absence. The affable veteran has 26 total years of experience with the football Falcons.

Keith, who operates his own Coach Collins American Family Insurance Agency in West Bend, is married to Cindy and has three children; Steven, Vanessa, and Casey. CUW's 2007 defensive line featured first team All American Wilbur Allen.

 

Andy Miller

Assistant Coach

Andy comes to CUW after spending three years with the University of Minnesota football team as an undergraduate assistant with the Gopher defensive staff. The Golden Gophers showed major improvements in their defensive stats during the time he was with them.

A graduate of Lake of the Woods High School in Baudette, Minnesota, he is the oldest of six children and enjoys fishing, hunting, and "the outdoors in general".

 

Jim Kehoe

This is Coach Kehoe's third stint at CUW. He also coached the Falcons from 1989 to 1993 and from 1997 to 2001. Jim also coached high school football at Bangor, Grafton, West Bend West, and Cedarburg. His Grafton teams won two state championships and also finished second twice. He coached a total of 25 years at the high school level and taught for 35 years at Grafton. Kehoe earned his undergraduate degree from UW Lacrosse and his Masters from Northern Michigan.

Wilbur Allen

Wilbur was a First Team All-American during his CUW playing days. He was also a first team All Conference choice as a defensive nose tackle for 3 consecutive seasons. Allen works with the Falcon defensive linemen.

Mike Steinmetz

  Graduate AssistantMike Steinmetz

Steinmetz graduated from Racine Horlick in 2002 after earning numerous football honors at the HS level. At CUW he was a 3-time all conference performer and was the IBFC Player of the Year as a senior. Mike was also the Private School's Player of the Year for the Badger state while at Concordia. "I am just looking forward to contributing where I can," offered Steinmetz.

Dallas Graham

Dallas Graham is entering his second season as Defensive Graduate assistant and outside Linebackers coach.  He also has video coordinator duties.

 

Coach Graham came to Concordia after 3 seasons with the Southeastern Missouri State football program.  During the 2008 

season he was director of video operations in charge of all video development including film exchange and editing.  He also worked with Special Teams.  

 

Prior to completing his degree work at SEMO, he played as a cornerback at Quincy University.  Dallas is a graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in Illinois where he was an all conference football performer.

 

Dallas is earning his Masters' at CUW in Student Personal Administration and lives with his wife Kim.

Blair Grover

Blair is a graduate of Homestead HS and North Dakota University.  He was a 1st Team all area and all state performer while in high school as a tight end and played in the 2004 Wisconsin HS Shrine Game.  As a track athlete he participated on the Homestead's State (6th place) 4x100 team. 

At NDU Blair was a 4 yr. letter winner and a 1st Team All Great West tight end.   He also won the school's Frendberg Award as the Most Inspirational Football Player.   Blair will work with Tight Ends at CUW.

 

Paul Clemens

Coach Clemens, who works with Falcon tight ends, played on Championship teams at CUW from 1988-1990. He lives in Mequon with his wife (Gabe) and sons Joe (12) and Nick (10). Paul is a self-employed contractor

Rustin Clewein

  Strength CoachRustin Clewein

Rustin Clewein, an NCAA National finalist in the 200m and outstanding receiver while at CUW, is a Certifed Strength and Conditioning specialist. He is also a Personal Trainer (NSCA) and a Senior level USA Olympic Weightlifting Coach.

Rustin has been the director of Human Performance at Concordia for the past three years. He has worked with athletes from the high school, collegiate, and professional levels.

Michael Liddell

Justin Tlachac

Coach Tlachac hails from Luxemburg Wisconsin where he was a 3 sport athlete for the Spartans. He earned offensive and defensive all conference honors while in high school. Justin played for CUW from 2006-2009 and earned all conference honors at defensive end. He will help coach offensive linemen during the 2010 season.
